Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan have submitted a joint application to host the 2031 Asian Cup.

To host the Asian Cup competition, a record in the tournament's history has been set with 7 bids submitted.

The 35th Congress of the Asian Football Confederation took place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia here. The Uzbekistan Football Association delegation headed by the AFC Executive Committee's Central Asian representative, the first vice-president of the UFA, Ravshan Irmatov, also participated.

At the event, AFC President Sheikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa expressed his ideas about further developing the member national and regional associations and the future of Asian football.

"We are implementing new projects and changes aimed at further strengthening the development of Asian football. These directions and collaborations play an important role in creating a solid foundation for Asian football. We plan to enhance the collaboration between clubs and national teams, as well as to further develop football on the international stage through regional competitions," — said the AFC President.

During the congress, it was highlighted that 7 candidates had applied for hosting the 2031 Asian Cup.

Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan (joint application).

"A record number of countries have applied to host the 2031 Asian Cup, which further enhances the global significance of Asian football," — added Sheikh Salman.

The AFC leader also expressed sympathy for the victims of natural disasters in Palestine, Myanmar, and Thailand. Additionally, during the congress, other agenda items and organizational reports were approved.
