A Russian cyber athlete became the most expensive transfer in history.

$2.5 million was paid for his transfer from the G2 Esports team to Saudi Arabia's Team Falcons esports club, ensuring the sentence structure and punctuation are accurately reflected.

The 19-year-old Russian esports athlete - Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) sniper Ilya «m0NESY» Osipov became the most expensive transfer in esports history. He was transferred from G2 Esports to the Saudi Arabian Team Falcons esports club for 2.5 million dollars. This was reported by a number of esports publications here.

Team Falcons had previously announced they were ready to pay up to 3 million dollars for Osipov, but G2 Esports did not agree to the transfer. As a result, m0NESY is expected to remain with G2 until the first half of 2025  

It is known that Team Falcons decided to restructure their team following a series of failures in 2024. The team added G2 Esports captain Nikola «NiKo» Kovac to their lineup. Moreover, Team Falcons is also attempting to recruit the talented Finnish player Jimi «Jimpphat» Salo

Ilya «m0NESY» Osipov is a young Russian sniper who joined the G2 Esports team in 2022. He is known for his quick reflexes and accurate play. In 2024, he won IEM Dallas, BLAST Premier Fall Final, and BLAST Premier World Final competitions with G2, making him one of the contenders for the player of the year title.
