Today, on the night of May 1, the armed forces of the Russian Federation carried out a major airstrike on the territory of Ukraine. This was reported by the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to Ukrainian officials, Russia launched a total of 5 Iskander-M ballistic missiles and 170 various drones. Ukrainian air defense has shot down 74 Shahed-type attack drones. Another 68 simulated drones were assessed as "lost" by radars.

The attack damaged infrastructure in the Odessa, Kharkiv, Sumy, Donetsk, and Kyiv regions.

Several apartment buildings and private houses, a supermarket, a school, and cars were damaged in Odessa. According to regional head Oleg Kiper, several fires have occurred throughout the city. As a result of the tragedy, two people died and 15 were injured.

In the Kyiv region, drone debris burned down a private house and an outbuilding, but no casualties were reported.

In Kharkiv, drones targeted a gas station in the Kyiv district of the city. The fire broke out, but there were no casualties.

The Russian Ministry of Defense also stated that a total of eight Ukrainian drones were shot down by Russian air defense forces overnight in the Kursk, Voronezh, Vladimir, and Belgorod regions.
