From May 15, 2025, a procedure for granting loans to students for traveling abroad and back under the “Work and Travel” international programs, as well as covering other expenses, will be introduced, as per the government decree adopted on May 2.

Students will be granted loans to travel and work abroad under the “Work and Travel” international programs, including in countries of the European Union, South Korea, Japan, the United Kingdom, the USA, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, as well as to cover other expenses.

Each year, up to 2,000 students will be granted loans amounting to 40 times the base calculation amount (15 million UZS).

Applications for loan issuance are accepted through the public services center or the MY.GOV.UZ portal (my.gov.uz). Applicants must attach the following documents:

  • the employment contract between the applicant and the employer in the foreign country;
  • information about the guarantor's last 12 months' salary and consent to be a guarantor in case the applicant does not repay the loan, if available;
  • visa.

Students are obliged to repay the loan within one month after returning from the foreign country.

Once loans are approved for 2,000 applicants within a calendar year, the acceptance of applications will be suspended.

After the loan is granted but in sequence, those who submitted applications later will not be put on the list for the next year, and they will have to reapply the following year.

For your information, this loan is considered an interest-free loan provided with a repayment condition.
