Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed his readiness to meet face-to-face with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
He expects the meeting to take place on May 15, 2025, in Turkey. Zelenskyy wrote on his Telegram page:
"We expect a ceasefire - completely and for a long time. Diplomatic negotiations should be possible. There's no point in delaying deaths. I am waiting for Putin in Turkey. "
US President Donald Trump responded to this statement. He called on Ukraine to accept Putin's negotiation proposal.
"At least they'll find out if they can make a deal. If not, Europe and the US will determine how to act," Trump wrote.
