Starting from June, Uzbekistan citizens will have the opportunity to travel to China without a visa. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan announced this.
It is noted that the intergovernmental agreement on mutual visa exemption between Uzbekistan and China has come into effect after the completion of domestic procedures in both countries.
According to the rules of the indicated international agreement, the agreement will come into force on the 1st of June 2025 and it regulates issues related to mutual visa-free travels of the citizens of Uzbekistan and China to the territories of the two states.
In accordance with the mutual agreement, citizens of the parties are exempt from visa requirements for entry, exit or transit through the territories of the two states for each separate stay not exceeding 30 days and for a total of not more than 90 days within any 180-day period.
In this case, each entry and stay duration within the territories of the states should not exceed 30 days. If citizens need to stay for more than 30 days, they must obtain an entry visa in advance.
The visa-free regime does not apply to engaging in employment, education, and media activities, as well as other types of activities that require prior consent from the competent authorities of the other party.
The stated agreement does not apply to visits to the special administrative regions of Hong Kong and Macao of China.
