During operational activities conducted by the State Security Service and the Ministry of Internal Affairs, individuals and representatives of tourist firms were detained for attempting to organize Hajj and Umrah pilgrimages illegally. This was reported to Darakchi.uz by the press service of the State Security Service.
Tashkent
Four employees of one of the tourist firms operating in the capital demanded $7,000 from each of them in exchange for organizing a Hajj pilgrimage for three citizens on the basis of a working visa, and $5,000 from another person for sending them through a tourist visa. He was detained while receiving a total of $20,000 in advance.
Fergana
A representative of a travel agency operating in Margilan promised to arrange Umrah trips for 2 citizens for $2,400, and Hajj trips for 3 citizens for $15,000. He was caught while receiving the money.
Namangan
A resident of the regional center, born in 1999, made false advertisements on social networks and gained the trust of 3 citizens. He was detained while receiving $4,900 each and collecting a total of $14,700.
In the Chust district, the head of the travel agency demanded $4,050 in exchange for sending 3 citizens to Umrah, although they did not have the appropriate license. He was arrested while receiving $4,000.
Another case
A resident of Tashkent, born in 1998, asked for $27,000 in exchange for sending 5 citizens on the basis of a Hajj visa. He was detained after receiving $13,500 in advance.
Currently, criminal cases have been initiated in all cases under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code, and investigative actions are underway.
