Measures will be taken against airlines that cause artificial shortages of airplane tickets. This was reported by the press service of the Competition Committee in a statement.
“Currently, relevant ministries and agencies are taking measures to stabilize airplane ticket prices, attract the private sector, including foreign companies, based on the respective ‘air freedoms’ for domestic routes and other incentive mechanisms, and to increase the scope of services to the population in local routes by providing subsidies on equal terms to local carriers,” the report says.
The Competition Committee stated that legal measures will be taken when passenger carrier companies operating domestic and international flights engage in actions contrary to competition or consumer interests, including cases of artificially not releasing tickets to the market.
