During operational activities conducted by the State Security Service and internal affairs bodies in the Kashkadarya region, the activities of a clandestine group belonging to the religious extremist movement "Jihadists" were exposed. The State Security Service (SSS) reported this to "Darakchi.uz."

According to the information, a resident of the Karshi district, born in 1977, who was repeatedly prosecuted, recruited 7 citizens born between 1964 and 1986 into his community. They held meetings in households and discussed the ideas of the "caliphate."

During the investigation, it was revealed that they distributed audio and video materials related to the propaganda of terrorist organizations through social networks and tried to instill extremist ideas in others.

The leader and 4 members of the group had previously committed crimes and were in prison. Nevertheless, they did not learn from their mistakes.

The Karshi District Court found them guilty under Articles 159, 244 prim 1 and 244 prim 2 of the Criminal Code and sentenced them to 6 to 10 years and 6 months of imprisonment.
