A small private plane crashed onto a house in the state of California, San Diego area in the USA. So far, it is known that two people have died and eight have sustained injuries as a result of the incident. ABC News reported.

According to the Federal Aviation Administration of the USA, a Cessna 550 type small plane crashed approximately at 3:45 in the morning local time just seconds before it was about to land. There were six people on board the aircraft.

It has been disclosed that the plane belonged to Dave Shapiro, the co-founder of Sound Talent Group music agency. The agency has confirmed his death as a result of the crash.

The Assistant Director of the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department, Dan Eddy, announced in a press conference that five people were hospitalized due to smoke inhalation, another person was injured while trying to escape through a window. Two more people sustained minor injuries.

According to Eddy, the plane crash might have been caused by dense fog observed in the area in the morning.

As reported by the publication, the plane crash led to a major fire, causing damage to 10 buildings and several vehicles. One of the buildings was completely destroyed.

The exact number of victims onboard the plane remains unknown. Search and rescue operations are ongoing.
