By the end of 2024, Turkey ranked fifth among the countries that exported the most products to Israel, according to Al Jazeera.

In the first quarter of the last year, Turkey was among the top five countries that exported the most products to Israel. According to the Turkish Economic Research Center (TİM), during this period, Turkey's total exports to Israel reached $1.14 billion. Although this figure decreased by 21.6% compared to the same period in 2023, Israel's share of Turkey's total exports constituted 2.06%.

The main exported products included iron and steel, cement, glass, ceramics, ready-to-wear clothing, electric and electronic devices, furniture, paper and forest products, as well as automotive industry products. For instance, in the month of March, the automotive industry led with exports worth $53.8 million.

However, starting from May 2, 2024, Turkey stopped all kinds of export and import operations to Israel. This decision was made in response to Israel's military actions in Gaza and restrictions on humanitarian aid. According to the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Trade, no products were exported or imported to Israel on this date.

By suspending trade relations with Israel, the Turkish government is expressing its participation in international efforts aimed at alleviating the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and establishing peace in the region.
