In the city of Kokand, Fergana region, members of a secret group of the “Hizb-ut-Tahrir” organization were identified. The State Security Service's Information Service reported this to “Darakchi.uz”.
It is noted that an operational activity was carried out by the employees of the State Security Service’s regional department in Fergana, involving the internal affairs agencies.
During the investigation, it was discovered that a resident of Kokand, born in 1962, who had previously been a member of the “Hizb-ut-Tahrir” organization and who had served a prison sentence from 2000-2019 for crimes envisioned under articles 159, 244 prime 1, and 244 prime 2 of the Criminal Code, had formed an illegal group involving four citizens born between 1965-1971.
This individual, during the years 2024-2025, promoted the ideas of "Hizb ut-Tahrir" at gatherings in tea houses and canteens in the city of Kokand, supporting the introduction of "Hizb ut-Tahrir" ideologies into Uzbekistan, including the doctrines expressed in books and magazines published by the organization, and the ideas of establishing a caliphate state.
Additionally, they became members of a closed channel in the Telegram messenger, where they regularly acquainted themselves with materials related to "Hizb ut-Tahrir" DET.
It should be highlighted that a member of the group, born in 1971, who had previously served a 23-year sentence for his involvement in the "Hizb ut-Tahrir" organization, was released from prison in April 2024, while another member is known to have spent part of his life behind bars for a fraud-related crime.
Currently, criminal proceedings have been initiated against these individuals under articles 159, 244 prime 1, and 244 prime 2 of the Criminal Code, and pre-trial detention has been applied.
