In India, a newborn's hand was completely severed during delivery due to the negligence of doctors. This was reported by The Times of India.
The incident occurred on July 30 at a government hospital in Mandikhera city, Haryana state. When the aggrieved family sought an explanation from the medical team, they were treated rudely and subjected to offensive remarks.
Subsequently, they were forcibly removed from the ward. The newborn was later transferred to Nalhar Hospital.
A special committee has been formed to investigate the incident. It is gathering complete information about the doctors and nurses present in the room during the delivery. The committee is demanding explanations regarding how the newborn's hand was severed, the treatment and rehabilitation measures provided to the child, the results of internal or administrative investigations conducted, and the rude treatment towards the affected family.
The committee is evaluating the incident as a gross violation of the Indian Constitution and the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.
