During rapid operations conducted in Samarkand and Namangan regions in collaboration between the Department under the General Prosecutor's Office, customs, and internal affairs officers, individuals involved in the storage and sale of tobacco products without excise stamps were detained.
In Samarkand city and district, a total of 4,900 packs of foreign-made, non-excised tobacco products worth 106.2 million soums were found in the homes of citizens M.A. and S.M.
In Kosonsoy district, it was discovered that citizen M.A. was storing 3,940 packs of tobacco products of three types (worth 48.3 million soums) in his house.
Criminal cases have been initiated under Articles 25 and 186-1 of the Criminal Code in both instances, and investigative actions have begun.
