The national teams of Uzbekistan and Iran took to the field in the final held in Tashkent. After the main and extra time ended in a draw, a goal headed in by Khojiakbar Alijonov in the 120th minute decided the fate of the match.
Thus, the Uzbek national team became the champion of the 2025 "CAFA Nations Cup". Shavkat Mirziyoyev presented the cup and gold medals to our football players. FIFA President Gianni Infantino also attended the awarding ceremony.
This victory was important preparation ahead of the World Cup. At the same time, our national team ended a 13-year winless streak against Iran.
