A video has spread on social networks showing a DIA inspector breaking the windshield of a Cobalt and the car subsequently driving away in the city of Urgench. The Khorezm Regional DIA provided official information regarding the incident.
According to it, on September 9, a DIA inspector on duty at the "Cholish" checkpoint connecting the region with Karakalpakstan signaled for the driver of a Cobalt entering the Khorezm region through this checkpoint to stop.
However, the driver of this vehicle did not comply with the lawful demand of the DIA inspector and continued moving towards the city of Urgench. Subsequently, based on a message relayed via communication means by the DIA inspector, another DIA inspector on duty in the Urgench district followed this vehicle to a crossroads within the city limits of Urgench with the aim of stopping it.
At the crossroads, the inspector asked the driver to stop the vehicle on the side of the road and present the relevant documents.
But the driver, again not complying with the lawful demand of this DIA inspector, locked the car doors from the inside and began to move again, despite the DIA inspector standing in front of the vehicle.
At that point, the DIA inspector used a communication device to strike and break the front windshield in order to stop this vehicle from continuing to move.
Nevertheless, the aforementioned vehicle attempted to flee the scene but was subsequently blocked and apprehended at the next crossroads within the city of Urgench.
During the investigation, it was found that the driver, a resident of the Beruniy district of Karakalpakstan born in 2003, Y.Sh., who does not have a driver's license, was driving the said car, registered in his father's name, without any documents. Furthermore, it was revealed that there were three previous instances of traffic rule violations involving this vehicle, for which fines had been imposed but remained unpaid for over two months.
Regarding this incident, an administrative protocol was duly formalized, and the vehicle was placed in a penalty lot.
Pre-investigation checks are being carried out regarding the driver's actions.
