The first hydroelectric power station built entirely on local products and equipment has been launched in Uzbekistan.

The first stage of the "Norin HPPs Cascade" in Namangan — HPP-1 has been commissioned. The press service of the head of state reported this.

The station will produce 171 million kilowatt-hours of electricity per year, provide power to 430 thousand households, and save 290 million cubic meters of gas per year.

The project resulted in the creation of 130 jobs. It is emphasized that this facility will mark the beginning of a new stage in the country's hydropower industry.
