The asteroid 2025 FA22 will pass Earth and the Moon at a safe distance of approximately 800 thousand km on September 12:41 Tashkent time. This was reported by the Solar Astronomy Laboratory.
It is noted that for some time this object was considered the most potentially dangerous inspection on the European Space Agency's list.
The asteroid is 130 meters wide and 290 meters long. Its next close approach to Earth will be on August 20, 2036, but at a distance about 25 times greater than now. According to laboratory calculations, truly dangerous approaches are expected in 2089 and 2173.
After the asteroid passes Earth, it continues to move away from the Sun. This means it will be fully illuminated and more visible. However, astronomers have warned that the inspection can only be seen with telescopes with an aperture of approximately 30 cm. The object remains impossible to see with the naked eye, even with improved equipment.
