World-renowned mixed martial arts master, one of the former UFC champions, Khabib Nurmagomedov visited Tashkent yesterday and familiarized himself with the activities of the Mixed Martial Arts Association of Uzbekistan. As part of his visit, he went to the "Jar" sports complex under the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
There, Nurmagomedov was welcomed by the association's president Aziz Tashpulatov, Otbek Umarov, the leadership of the MIA, coaches, and athletes. The meeting discussed issues of developing mixed martial arts, establishing international cooperation, organizing competitions, and improving the qualifications of specialists.
Khabib shared his personal experience in training athletes and emphasized the high sports potential in Uzbekistan:
"If Uzbek youth are given the right direction, they can also become world leaders in mixed martial arts," he said.
At the end of the visit, Nurmagomedov met with young athletes, gave a motivational speech, and offered them practical advice.
