According to the Solar Astronomy Laboratory of the Institute for Space Research of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the most powerful geomagnetic storm of 2025, as well as one of the most powerful in recent years, will impact Earth today, on November 7.
The laboratory's models show a situation similar to the G5-class storm in May 2024.
The level of disturbance in the magnetic field is rated from G1 (weak) to G5 (extremely strong). According to current forecasts, it is expected that the storm level may rise to the G4–G5 range during the day.
