At least 18 people were injured as a result of an armed attack at a lyceum located in Turkey's Şanlıurfa province, and the attacker was killed at the scene.
According to reports, an armed attack took place on April 14 at the Ahmet Koyuncu Vocational and Technical Anatolian Lyceum in the Siverek district of Şanlıurfa province. As a result, 12 students, 2 teachers, and 2 civilians were injured. All the injured were taken to hospitals.
According to witnesses, the attacker entered the school with a long-barreled weapon and fired shots around. In the ensuing panic, some students jumped from windows to escape.
Emergency services, police, and special forces were dispatched to the scene. The majority of the students were evacuated.
According to the statement by the provincial governor, the individual who carried out the attack was a former student of the lyceum and took his own life after being surrounded by police.
