New privileges, subsidies, and incentive mechanisms aimed at developing the tourism sector and attracting international brands were approved by the President's decree. They aim to increase tourist flow, improve service quality, and stimulate investments.
Starting from March 1, 2026, it is planned to provide subsidies covering 50 percent of the costs for tourism startups, up to one billion soums, to the top 10 projects through the Tourism Support Fund.
50 percent of the costs for hotels to obtain "green" certificates will also be covered by the state.
Furthermore, 50 percent of the Value Added Tax will be refunded to businesses that attract at least 100 foreign guests through MICE events.
Starting from 2027, tourism entities importing buses, electric buses, and minibuses will be exempt from customs duties, while in Karakalpakstan, customs and recycling fees for extreme tourism vehicles can be paid at a rate of 25 percent.
Until 2030, customs payments will be fully canceled for the import of equipment and machinery for entrepreneurs building hotels with the participation of one of the top 50 most influential global brands in the "Brand Finance" ranking. Similarly, the Tourism Committee has been designated as the responsible body for the system of refunding a portion of costs (Rebate) to foreign film companies.
The decree will serve to boost tourism investments, introduce new types of services, and strengthen the country's position in the global tourism market.
