The environmental category of a vehicle is designated according to its environmental class confirmed by its manufacturer. This was established in the regulation "On the Procedure for Determining the Level of Compliance with Standards on the Harmful Impact of Pollutant Emissions from Motor Vehicles on the Atmospheric Air, Their Classification into Environmental Categories, and the Issuance of Environmental Stickers," approved by a government decree last night, on November 28.
Here, vehicles are classified into environmental categories based on the following criteria:
For those running on gasoline, compressed and liquefied gas fuel:
Vehicles with an environmental class of "Euro-2" and above – to the "clean" environmental category;
Vehicles with an environmental class of "Euro-0" and "Euro-1" – to the "average" environmental category;
for those running on diesel fuel type:
Vehicles with an environmental class of "Euro-4" and above – to the "clean" environmental category;
Vehicles with an environmental class of "Euro-3" – to the "average" environmental category;
Vehicles with an environmental class of "Euro-0", "Euro-1", and "Euro-2" – to the "harmful" environmental category;
Hybrid vehicles, vehicles running on alternative fuel types, and vehicles manufactured less than 3 years ago – to the "clean" environmental category.
During the process of vehicle registration and re-registration, "green," "yellow," or "red" colored environmental stickers, corresponding to their categories, are issued by environmental operators at the State Traffic Safety Department units.
The vehicle owner can voluntarily apply to the Traffic Safety Service of the Public Security Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs via its official website or the EIGMP (my.gov.uz) to obtain an environmental sticker.
If the application meets the established criteria, one of the environmental stickers corresponding to the vehicle's environmental category will be issued for the vehicle.
Environmental stickers are issued for an indefinite period.
