The number of victims of floods and landslides on the Indonesian island of Sumatra has sharply increased to 442 people, report officials. On Sunday morning, the death toll had reached 300 people.
Evacuation efforts are continuing on the island, main roads are blocked, and internet and electricity supply have only been partially restored.
Monsoons, intensified by tropical storms, have caused the worst floods in recent years in Southeast Asia. Hundreds of people have died and gone missing in Malaysia and Thailand, with millions affected across the entire region.
The official death toll in Thailand currently stands at 170 people, with two more deaths in the northern Malaysian state of Perlis.
In Sri Lanka, nearly 160 people have died due to extreme weather conditions caused by floods and landslides.
