According to the Kyrgyz Republic Boxing Federation, although 13 athletes were registered for the World Championship scheduled for December 3–13, only two of them — Omar Livaize (63.5 kg) and Almaz Orozbekov (67 kg) — and head coach Daniyar Tologon have visas.
Visas were not granted to the remaining 10 boxers — Anvarjon Khojiev, Mirlan Turkbai uulu, Sanzhar Seidakmatov, Rispek Bektenov, Ikhtiyor Nishonov, Sirkak Abdizhapar uulu, Omurbek Bekzhigit uulu, Erkin Adilbek uulu, Bakyt Toktosun uulu, and Mirzakir Koshaliyev.
The Federation emphasized that such a situation is being observed in 46 other participating countries, which casts doubt on the full-scale holding of the competition.
