Reports have circulated on social media that taking photos and videos inside the Masjid al-Haram and the Masjid an-Nabawi is "completely prohibited" during the Hajj season. However, these reports are absolutely baseless and are considered fake news. This was reported by The Islamic Information portal.

No institution involved with Hajj and Umrah or any other government agency has officially announced such a ban. The news about restrictions on photography has spread from unverified accounts on social media.

According to official sources, no new restrictions have been introduced regarding photography in the holy sanctuaries. The existing protocol—to respect worshippers, maintain order, and not to disturb others—remains in effect during all seasons, especially during Hajj, Umrah, and Ramadan.
