The President signed the resolution "On measures to prepare for and host the 2027 FIFA U-20 World Cup."
The document was prepared to organize the 2027 FIFA U-20 World Cup, which will be held in Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan, at a high level, as well as to host prestigious major competitions of the International Football Federation (FIFA) and the Asian Football Confederation.
According to the resolution, a FIFA Regional Office for Central Asian countries will be opened free of charge in the building of the Uzbekistan Football Association in Tashkent.
The costs for establishing and maintaining the Regional Office will primarily be covered by funds allocated by FIFA. The shortfall will be financed from the funds of the Uzbekistan Football Support Fund, but not exceeding 50 percent of the total costs.
The costs for renovating the Regional Office building and providing it with necessary furniture, equipment, technology, and vehicles will be covered by funds allocated by the Reconstruction and Development Fund, in accordance with the resolution. At the same time, the minimum requirements for maintaining the office will be established by the Uzbekistan Football Association.
