Today, on December 18, the law "On the State Budget of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2026" was discussed and approved at the 12th plenary session of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis. The Senate press service reported on this.
According to the law, state budget expenditures in 2026 will amount to 402.6 trillion soums, and revenues to 368.9 trillion soums. Almost 55 percent of state budget expenditures—220 trillion soums—will be directed to the social sphere. In particular, it is planned to allocate 100 trillion soums to the education sector and 49 trillion soums to healthcare, which is 11.4 percent more than the current year.
Furthermore, consolidated budget revenues for 2026 are set at 515.8 trillion soums, and expenditures at 567.6 trillion soums. The budget deficit is envisaged not to exceed 3 percent of the gross domestic product. Within the framework of the law, the inflation rate is forecast to be around 7 percent.
At the conclusion of the discussion, senators emphasized the need for targeted use of budget funds, improving the population's standard of living, developing a "green economy," and paying special attention to tasks aimed at solving social problems, and approved the law.
