A delegation led by Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Rustem Umerov is traveling to the United States to discuss a plan to stop the war. This was reported on December 18 by the publication Axios, citing sources.

According to information, at the end of the week, the Ukrainian delegation will meet in Miami with U.S. President Donald Trump's special representative Steve Wittekopf and his son-in-law Jared Kushner. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy also confirmed the Ukrainian delegation's departure to the U.S., but did not disclose its exact composition. At the same time, it was noted that representatives of European states may also participate in the negotiations.

Earlier, the Politico publication wrote that a Russian delegation is also expected to arrive in Miami on December 20-21. It will be led by the Russian President's special representative Kirill Dmitriev. The Russian delegation also plans to hold separate negotiations with Wittekopf and Kushner.

According to Axios sources, a trilateral meeting involving the U.S., Ukraine, and Russia is not currently envisaged.

It is noted that on December 14-15, Steve Wittekopf and Jared Kushner held negotiations in Berlin with representatives of Ukraine and a number of European states. Following these meetings, the U.S. side indicated its readiness to provide security guarantees to Ukraine in the event the war ends, but the issue of territorial concessions remained open.

Also, at the beginning of December, Wittekopf and Kushner held a meeting in Moscow with Russian President Vladimir Putin, but the details of the negotiations were not disclosed.
