Within the framework of the first meeting of the Strategic Partnership Council, a ceremony was held to confer the honorary doctorate and professorship titles of the National University of Sciences and Technology of Pakistan upon the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev. This was reported by the press service of the Uzbek leader.

It is noted that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif presented the relevant certificate to the leader of Uzbekistan.

These titles were awarded for the Uzbek leader's significant contribution to reforms in the socio-economic and educational spheres, the consistent modernization of the country, the development of science and technology, and the strengthening of international cooperation and academic ties.

During the ceremony, Shavkat Mirziyoyev expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister of Pakistan, the university leadership, and the academic community for the high titles and emphasized the importance of further strengthening ties in the field of education and jointly training highly qualified specialists.

Established in 1991, the National University of Sciences and Technology embodies directions such as scientific research and innovative activities, training of masters and doctors, and conducting practical research aimed at the needs of industry and the economy.

We recall that Shavkat Mirziyoyev is currently on a state visit to Pakistan. It was previously reported that during his visit, the Uzbek leader visited the headquarters of the "Global Industrial & Defence Solutions" company, held a meeting with the Chief of Army Staff - Commander of the Pakistan Army's Land Forces, Field Marshal Asim Munir, and was received by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Ishaq Dar.

Also, an official welcoming ceremony for the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan was held at the Prime Minister's Office of Pakistan. Furthermore, Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Shehbaz Sharif held restricted talks and the first meeting of the high-level Strategic Partnership Council, and participated in a ceremony naming one of the streets in Islamabad after Tashkent and a newly established park after Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur. At the same time, following the first meeting of the high-level Strategic Partnership Council, Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Shehbaz Sharif signed a Joint Declaration.
