The Parliament of Kyrgyzstan — the former Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh, Nurlanbek Turganbek uulu, announced his early resignation from his parliamentary mandate. He announced his decision on his Facebook page.
The former speaker, while congratulating the people of Kyrgyzstan on the month of Ramadan, denied recent reports about his political ambitions and connection to the "appeal of 75 people." According to him, the letter that caused public resonance was published while he was in Turkey, and he learned about it later.
Nurlanbek Turganbek uulu stated that due to his worsening health, he is undergoing treatment and has therefore decided to resign his parliamentary mandate and leave politics. He expressed gratitude to his voters for their trust and apologized for leaving parliament early.
It should be recalled that earlier, 75 public figures and officials sent an appeal in the name of Sadyr Japarov, requesting early presidential elections in the country. Subsequently, this appeal was followed by a series of arrests and the resignation of several high-ranking officials.
