According to the Turkish Ministry of Defense, on March 4, NATO's air and missile defense forces located in the Eastern Mediterranean detected and destroyed a missile launched from Iran that passed through Iraqi and Syrian airspace.

Reports indicate that fragments of the missile defense system fell in the Dörtyol district of Hatay province, with no casualties.

Ankara continues consultations with NATO and allies regarding the incident and reserves the right to respond to any threat.
