Pharmaceutical exports reached $220 million The share of medicines in the export structure is only 7 percent
Although the export volume in the pharmaceutical sector of Uzbekistan has reached $220 million, only 7 percent of it accounts for the share of medicines. All 58 drug manufacturing enterprises in the country have received a national GMP certificate.
It was emphasized that it is now necessary to adapt enterprises to EuroGMP requirements to enter expensive markets. Starting from June 1, 50 percent of the cost for local manufacturers to obtain a EuroGMP certificate will be covered by the Trade Support Fund.
It was also noted that due to localization requirements, some manufacturers cannot participate in state procurements. Currently, 16 enterprises cannot sell 178 types of medicines and medical products to state enterprises because their localization level has not reached 30 percent. Therefore, it has been decided that until September 1, entrepreneurs with a local product certificate will be allowed to participate in state procurements regardless of the localization level.
