Russian President Vladimir Putin proposed the idea of exporting Iran's enriched uranium reserves to Russia during a telephone conversation with US President Donald Trump. This proposal was seen as part of an agreement to end the war between the US and Iran, writes zamon.uz.
According to sources, Trump rejected this proposal. Because one of the main objectives in the war for the US and Israel is considered to be gaining control over Iran's 450 kilograms of uranium enriched up to 60 percent. Experts say this amount is sufficient to create a weapon in a short time.
Russia has previously stored Iran's low-enriched uranium under the 2015 nuclear deal and is considered one of the countries with the capability to receive uranium.
Also, US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth stated that Washington is considering several options for gaining control over Iran's highly enriched uranium.
According to him, one of the options is for Tehran to voluntarily surrender its uranium reserves.
The US president said that obtaining the enriched uranium is not currently a priority task, but this issue can be considered later.
