The European Union removed three banks of Tajikistan — "Spitamen Bank", "Dushanbe City Bank", and "Kommersbank Tajikistan" — from its blacklist.

Earlier, these banks were accused of assisting in circumventing sanctions against Russia. The decision was made following negotiations between Tajikistan and European partners.

According to the National Bank of Tajikistan, this step will boost the development of the country's banking system. Additionally, the European Union's decision was assessed as a result of improved relations with ministries and banks.

Let us recall that these banks were included in the list within the framework of the 19th sanctions package against Russia. They were suspected of participating in financial operations to support the Russian economy.

On April 23, the European Union approved the 20th sanctions package against Russia. It also covers ports, dozens of tankers, cryptocurrency platforms, as well as individuals and companies associated with the Russian military industry.
