The documentary film series "Ma'rifat Aks-Sadosi" (Echo of Enlightenment), created on the basis of an initiative by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan and implemented by the Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan, has reached the final stage of the prestigious New York Festivals TV & Film Awards 2026, one of the influential awards in world cinema. The project features world-renowned, Oscar-winning actor Ben Kingsley participating.

This achievement indicates the project has been highly rated by an international jury of experts. In the final stage, the documentary film will contend for one of the awards in the bronze, silver, or gold categories. The competition winners are scheduled to be announced during the Storytellers Gala awards ceremony on May 21, 2026.

The documentary broadly illuminates the rich intellectual and spiritual heritage of the Islamic world through the immense contribution to the development of world civilization by great thinkers who emerged from Central Asia—Al-Khwarizmi, Al-Farghani, Ibn Sina (Avicenna), and other scholars. Furthermore, the project provides a deep analysis of the heritage of the Timurid and Mughal eras, as well as other historical civilizations of the region, presenting their impact on the development of science, medicine, and philosophy through a scientific-popular approach.

Previously, materials from this project were presented to an international audience and broadcast on leading global television channels such as CNN, BBC, and Euronews, further increasing its influence in the global information space.

The New York Festivals TV & Film Awards international prize holds high prestige in the television and film industry, distinguished by its rigorous judging system, wide geographical participation, and high level of competition. Within the framework of this award, projects created by leading media companies such as BBC, National Geographic, and Netflix have previously received the highest ratings.

The Islamic Civilization Center in Uzbekistan today actively occupies a position in the international scientific-cultural field, consistently implementing projects based on the synergy of academic research, modern technologies, and global media communications.
