In Tashkent, a girl floating away in a canal was rescued by a railway worker

In the Sergeli district of Tashkent city, a teenage girl being carried away in a canal was saved from death thanks to the bravery of a railway worker.

According to the press service of the joint-stock company ‘Uzbekistan Railways,’ the incident occurred on June 9 while Azam Ibrahimov, an employee of the Tashkent railway distance enterprise of the Tashkent regional railway hub branch, was performing his official duties.

It is noted that while he was working near the Karasu canal passing through the Sergeli district, he saw two girls being carried away by the water and calling for help. Immediately, the railway repairman quickly descended into the canal and pulled one of the girls out of the water.

Thanks to his prompt and selfless actions, a potential tragedy was prevented.

For this act of bravery, Azam Ibrahimov was awarded a letter of thanks, a commemorative gift, and a monetary reward by the management of JSC ‘Uzbekistan Railways.’
