According to reports, the incident occurred on July 25 at the "Save Me" wild animal shelter. A man born in 1982 illegally entered the protected area and attempted to "talk" with a lynx named Marusya.
Shelter staff contacted the security service and emergency services. Upon arrival, the man introduced himself to the staff as an "Interpol welder." It was determined that he was intoxicated and had come to the shelter looking for an acquaintance.
Law enforcement authorities initiated a case against him under the article on petty hooliganism of the Russian Code of Administrative Offenses. By court decision, he was fined 500 rubles.
According to shelter director Karen Dallakyan, Marusya experienced severe stress after the incident. In this regard, the shelter administration called for strict adherence to safety rules in areas where wild animals are kept.
