Iran is demanding compensation from the US for restoring ship traffic through the Strait of Hormuz. Zamon.uz reported this, citing foreign sources.

According to Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, Tehran and Oman are close to a temporary agreement on the movement of ships through the strait. However, this agreement does not mean the full opening of Hormuz.

Under the proposed procedure, commercial ships enter the strait through Iranian territorial waters and exit through Omani territorial waters. The temporary route could operate for two to four months.

Araghchi stressed that Iran expects compensation from the US for breaking the peace agreement.
