According to the decision, in order to properly celebrate Eid al-Adha, further strengthen the atmosphere of peace, tranquility, friendship and solidarity in the country, the information of the Board of Muslims of Uzbekistan that the first day of the blessed Eid al-Adha in 2026 falls on Wednesday, May 27, was taken into account, and May 27 will be widely celebrated as the holiday of Eid al-Adha in the country.
The following are taken into account:
According to Article 208 of the Labor Code, the first day of Eid al-Adha is established as a non-working holiday. By Decree No. PF-257 of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated December 24, 2025 "On establishing additional non-working days and transferring rest days during the celebration of official dates in 2026", the following were established as additional rest days:
- for all employees, regardless of the type of work week, May 28, 2026 – Thursday, May 29 – Friday;
- for employees working on a six-day work week, May 30 – Saturday.
The Council of Ministers of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, regional and Tashkent city khokimiyats, together with the Committee on Religious Affairs, the Uzbekistan Neighborhood Association, the National Social Protection Agency and other partner organizations will implement appropriate measures to hold Eid al-Adha in the regions in harmony with the national traditions and customs of the people, in a festive spirit.
The Tourism Committee, together with the Ministry of Transport, will create favorable conditions and opportunities for our compatriots to organize visits to sacred pilgrimage sites and historical landmarks during the days of Eid al-Adha.
The National Television and Radio Company of Uzbekistan, the National News Agency of Uzbekistan and other mass media are recommended to widely cover the events related to the celebration of Eid al-Adha.
Control over the implementation of this decision is entrusted to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov and the Advisor to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov.
