The trial in the criminal case against former head of Kyrgyzstan's State Committee for National Security (SCNS) Kamchibek Tashiev has been postponed. This was announced by lawyer Ikromiddin Aytkulov.

According to him, several factors caused the postponement of the court session. In particular, some defendants have not had time to fully familiarize themselves with the case materials.

Additionally, the defense has filed an appeal with the Bishkek City Court against the investigative decisions regarding the existing evidence.

"After the city court issues a decision on the appeal, the case will continue in the Birinchi May District Court of Bishkek. Kamchibek Tashiev will participate in the court sessions," the lawyer said.

It is reported that Tashiev is accused of preparing for a forcible seizure of power and abuse of official position.

The criminal case has been sent to the Birinchi May District Court of Bishkek for substantive review. Along with Tashiev, seven other individuals are listed as defendants in the case.

According to the lawyer, due to the classified nature of the case materials, the court sessions will be held behind closed doors. Disclosure of information related to the investigation and court proceedings is prohibited.

Recall that in February of this year, Kamchibek Tashiev was dismissed from his position as Chairman of Kyrgyzstan's SCNS. He stated that he did not expect this decision. Later, the President of Kyrgyzstan announced that Tashiev would not return to public service.

Shortly after, in one of her interviews, Jogorku Kenesh deputy Elvira Surabaldieva claimed that Tashiev was removed from his post for organizing an attempted coup d'état.

Following this, Tashiev addressed the people of Kyrgyzstan, calling on them to refrain from protest rallies.

According to information, former Prosecutor General Kurmankul Zulushev and former Parliament Speaker Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu are also involved in this case. However, what charges have been brought against them has not yet been disclosed.

At the end of April, Kamchibek Tashiev was formally charged in Kyrgyzstan.
