More than 8,000 children in Uzbekistan will be given $200 each as an Eid gift.

The President emphasized that work related to supporting the needy population, treating patients, and assisting children should be organized transparently and in a targeted manner, and gave relevant instructions to the responsible officials.

On the occasion of Eid al-Adha, money in the amount of 200 US dollars will be transferred to the trust accounts of over 8,000 orphans and children deprived of parental care in Uzbekistan, as well as children of servicemen who died in the line of defending the country's borders. This was reported in information on social support measures presented to President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on May 21.

The presentation reviewed proposals developed by the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan, the National Social Protection Agency, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the Association of Mahallas of Uzbekistan, and the “Waqf” Charitable Public Foundation.

According to the information, on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, large-scale charity and social events will be carried out across the country. In particular, it is planned to perform surgical operations on 10,000 children suffering from severe and disabling diseases.

Also, it is envisaged to cover the costs of medical examination, treatment, and surgical operations for 2,300 patients with oncological, hematological, and oncohematological diseases, and to perform liver and kidney transplant operations on at least 350 patients.

Within the framework of supporting the population in need of social protection, food packages will be distributed to families on state support, lonely elderly in need of care, and persons with disabilities.

In addition, it is planned to build, reconstruct, and repair modern ablution rooms in 500 mosques, as well as to carry out improvements to cemeteries.

To finance these measures, 690 billion soums will be allocated to the “Waqf” Charitable Public Foundation.
