Yesterday, on May 16, a ceremony launching a project to increase artificial precipitation was held in the city of Turkistan, Kazakhstan. According to official information, Kazakhstan has become the first country in Central Asia to begin applying artificial rain technologies in practice. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development of Kazakhstan.
It is reported that this technology makes it possible to increase the amount of rain by 10–20 percent compared to natural conditions.
Within the framework of the project, special methods of influencing the atmosphere are used to activate the process of rain formation from clouds. Officials emphasize that this initiative is intended to reduce water resource shortages and ensure a stable water supply for agriculture.
The initiative is primarily aimed at filling reservoirs and providing water for irrigated lands. In addition, the project aims to reduce the impact of drought on more than 911 thousand hectares of agricultural areas.
According to estimates, this project could increase agricultural efficiency and bring additional economic benefits averaging up to 35 billion tenge per year.
