A citizen from the Republic of Karakalpakstan, A. D., addressed the Competition Committee stating that the "Lacetti L-Stayle MT" model car manufactured by "UZAUTO MOTORS" JSC in 2023, which belonged to him, caught fire within 5 months of purchase due to a malfunction, but the manufacturer has not rectified this situation in a timely manner.
When this appeal was reviewed by the Committee, the situation was confirmed.
It was also identified that a similar incident of fire in the same model (brand, article) car has been observed in the Navoi region.
The Committee's Special Commission has initiated proceedings against "UZAUTO MOTORS" JSC and "PSM-AVTOSAVDO" LLP in accordance with the alleged violations of articles 14 and 20 of the Law "On Protection of Consumer Rights".
Taking into account the potential serious harm to human life and health, the Committee has mandated the recall and technical inspection of 37 cars of the same model (brand, article) produced at the same time as the car mentioned above, within a period of 10 days.
Furthermore, the citizen who filed the complaint has been provided with a new car of the same model and a decision was made to pay him a penalty in the amount of one percent of the car's price for each day delayed, starting from the date the consumer made the claim.
