Starting from September 22, Tajikistan has implemented restrictions on the supply of electricity. This was reported by "Asia-Plus" here.

It is noted that the last winter had low precipitation and the water supply in the areas of the Vakhsh River was at a very low level.

“The year-on-year increase in demand for electricity by the population and the country's socio-economic sector is causing seasonal electricity shortages. Therefore, network specialists predict that this year's seasonal electricity deficit will exceed 1 billion kilowatt-hours,” says the public appeal of the joint-stock company “Barki Tojik”.

Rural populations have been supplied with electricity from 5 am to 8 am and from 5 pm to 10 pm, totaling 8-10 hours a day, starting from September 21.

“Barki Tojik” had previously reported that the interruptions in electricity supply were due to the network's overall weakness under excessive loads.
