Today, on July 10, Kazakhstan's President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev sent an official response letter to former U.S. President Donald Trump.

This letter was written in response to the U.S. announcement of imposing a 25% tariff on Kazakh goods starting from August 1.

In the letter, Tokayev reminded that Kazakhstan has been a long-time trusted trade and investment partner of the United States.

Tokayev emphasized in his statement that he supports "fair, predictable, and mutually beneficial trade relations" and expressed readiness to "continue constructive dialogue to find a reasonable solution to trade issues."

The head of state also separately noted his belief in the possibility of reaching a compromise on this matter.

We remind you that on July 7, in his letter to Tokayev, Trump stated that the U.S. would consider tariff measures to address the trade imbalance with Kazakhstan.

He also stressed that if Kazakhstan responds by imposing tariffs, the U.S. may further increase the tariff rate.

Similar letters from Trump were also sent to leaders of 14 other countries, including Indonesia, Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and South Africa.
