In a raid conducted in the Navbahor district of Navoiy region, it was discovered that three citizens were illegally fishing in the Zarafshan river using electric nets. The Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change reported about this.
It was reported that the incident was observed today, on September 30, in the Zarafshan river flowing through the territory of the “Qorovultepa” MCA. During the raid, it was found that citizens - G.Sh., O.M., and A.Z., residents of Toshrobat village in Kiziltepa district, were fishing illegally in the Zarafshan river with electric nets.
The violators caught a total of 26 catfish, 8 grass carp, 6 common carp, 32 barbel, 32 crucian carp, 249 Samarqand stone loach, and 46 Turkestan barbel, which are listed in the Red Book of Uzbekistan. As a result, damage to nature amounted to 6 billion 324 million sum.
An administrative protocol was drawn up against them under Article 90 Part 4 of the Code on Administrative Responsibility (Violation of hunting and fishing rules, as well as other types of usage of the wildlife) and the documents were sent to the regional prosecutor's office for legal assessment and further actions.
