From October 1 this year, the amount of the one-time allowance given upon the birth of a child (the "joyful news money") has been increased. The National Agency for Social Protection has announced.
From October in Uzbekistan, the one-time allowance given upon the birth of a child was increased from 738,150 sum to 811,965 sum. This is connected with the increase in the minimum wage. That is, from October 1, the minimum wage in the country was set at 1,155,000 sum. The "joyful news money" constitutes 70.3 percent of this amount accordingly.
From April 1, 2024, the one-time allowance given upon the birth of a child will be paid to all women for their first child. For the second child, it will be formalized for women who are members of a family entered into the "Social Protection Unified Registry" information system at the time of the child's birth. In all other cases, the formalization of the one-time allowance given upon the birth of a child will be denied.
During September, the amount of allowances was increased by 15 percent in the republic. They are being paid in the following amounts:
- Age-related allowance — 745,000 sum;
- Category I disability allowance — 1,027,000 sum;
- Category II disability allowance — 920,000 sum;
- Allowance for children under 18 with disabilities — 920,000 sum;
- The amount of caregiving allowance — 745,000 sum;
- The amount of allowance for a dependent who has lost their breadwinner, for one incapable of work family member — 745,000 sum. For each additional incapable of work family member — an addition of 244,000 sum;
- Funeral allowance — 1,712,000 sum.
