These days, scammers are observed creating fake profiles on Telegram messenger in the names of high-ranking officials from ministries, agencies, and various organizations, deceiving their subordinates. The Tashkent city Department of Internal Affairs reports about this.

How does this happen?!

Scammers open a fake account on Telegram messenger in the name of a company or organization leader and send a text message to one of the subordinates. During the conversation, they claim that law enforcement agencies are interested in the employee and have asked for some information from them (the leader). Shortly after, they inform that a law enforcement officer will contact them.

Believing in the words of the "own leader," the employee, after a few minutes, gives all the requested information to the person who contacted them (supposedly a law enforcement representative). As a result, employees caught in the scammers' trap lose the money from their debit cards.

"Be cautious, before accepting and believing any SMS or other messages of this kind, make a phone call or personally reach out to the person who sent the message to double-check it!

Dear citizens, if you have encountered such situations, we ask you to contact the Tashkent city Department of Internal Affairs at 71-206-55-00 or 102. The identity of the complainant is guaranteed to be kept confidential," says the official statement.
