The first ever Judo World Championship among military personnel in Uzbekistan has concluded. The Ministry of Defense Information and Public Communications Department reported this to darakchi.uz.
In accordance with the execution of the Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on “Measures to Further Develop Judo Sport” and the calendar plan of the International Military Sports Council for 2024, the 42nd World Judo Championship among military personnel began for the first time in Uzbekistan, at the “Yunusabad” sports complex in our capital on October 16th.
The championship, organized in cooperation with the Ministries of Defense, Sports, Culture, and Foreign Affairs, the National Olympic Committee, and the Judo Federation of Uzbekistan, was attended by nearly 400 military athletes, delegation leaders, and referees from 30 countries, as well as representatives of the International Judo Federation and several distinguished guests.
Halimajon Qurbanova (-48 kg), Abdurahim Nutfullaev (-66 kg), Nigina Saparbaeva (-63 kg) won silver, while Laziza Haydarova (-48 kg), Bahrom Boturov (-60 kg), and Nilufar Ermaganbetova (-57 kg) won bronze medals.
On the first day of the world championship, our judokas won 2 gold, 3 silver, 3 bronze medals, making a total of 8 medals. On the second day of the competitions, our military athletes won 3 gold and 2 silver medals.
Thus, the Uzbekistan team concluded the 42nd World Military Championship with 5 gold, 5 silver, and 3 bronze medals.

In the team rankings, the Uzbek military judokas are in first place. They are followed by Mongolia with 3 gold medals and France with 2 gold medals. Kazakhstan, Algeria, Italy, Hungary have each secured one gold medal for themselves.
On October 18th, during the team battles, the Uzbek women's team took 1st place, while the men's team secured the 2nd place. The final results are as follows:
